I am excited to announce that No big deal has been selected for Romania-based (Targu Mures) Alter-Native Short Film Festival. Three days of film-watching, round tables and networking… I’m looking forward to all that fun.
No big deal (short fiction) has been selected out of 1004 films from 72 countries.
Of the 44 selected films, 21 are short fiction, 15 are animated films, 6 are documentaries, and 2 are experimental films.
Full competition programme will be announced on the festival’s offical site.

After a successful screening at Friss Hús Budapest International Short Film Festival, No big deal (directed by Katalin Burns) has been selected for the 2nd Szirtes András Experimental Film Showcase.
The András Szirtes Experimental Film Showcase – now taking place for the second time – offers a communal forum, meeting point, and space of inspiration for all those who push the boundaries of moving image, experiment with new forms, gestures, and sensibilities, and for whom film is not merely a tool, but an independent mode of thinking.
The showcase evokes the spirit of András Szirtes (1951–2023), Balázs Béla Award-winning filmmaker: playful radicalism, rejection of convention, the freedom of creation, perpetual searching, and constant reinterpretation.

Big Burns Night at Hotel Marriott, Wee Burns Supper at St. Columba’s Scottish Church! We celebrated the great Scottish poet at these two traditional events in Budapest. I sang with Dagda, as I do every year. Lots of dances, Scottish food, whiskey and poetry. I was in my element!
The Wee Burns is a bit more moderate with a stronger cultural profile, whereas the Big Burns is a fundraiser event. We performed the following Burns songs: Rantin’ Rovin’ Robin, Parcel of Rogues, Green Grow the Rashes O, Rattlin’ Roarin’ Willie

My graduation film project, No big deal has won a trophy at the 6th Nawada International Film Festival in India!
It has been awarded the prestigious Best foreign short film prize, together with Best director, Best producer and Best writer.
I thank all cast and crew once again, and let’s soar forward!
